Customer Notice - 11/09/23
Dear Customer,
As a valued customer I am writing to share with you that from the 1st of January 2024 we will be changing the way we treat timber certification. After much consideration we have chosen to make some changes which should have a positive impact on what we can offer you. It is important to us that we focus on supplying you with a wide range of products and to do this we feel we need to offer products over a wider range of timber certification schemes.
Since 2003 we at BPS have been supplying timber products which included in our descriptions either FSC, PEFC or legally sourced certification, within this we would only sell each specific certification type individually, instead all our timber products will now include in our descriptions where necessary ‘responsibly sourced’ meaning we can include other certification types.
We are focused on sustainability, but we also believe in consistently reviewing how we operate as a business, reviewing to ensure we have access to the right products for our customers. We feel that the marketplace is always changing and there are other certification schemes we should have access to, and in turn our customers should too. By making these changes and following this new path, it will enable us as a business to consider, purchase and sell other certification types.
The good news is you don’t need to do anything, we will still follow a strict procurement policy following the UKTR timber regulation and we will do the necessary due diligence to ensure we are sourcing from our suppliers ‘responsibly sourced’ timber products. These changes though will enable us to accept a mixture of both FSC, PEFC or any other recognized certification scheme. This will apply to all timber products and will be robust enough to meet the requirements for those customers who require certified timber goods.
We will still have available upon request from our chain of custody manager information on all of our individual timber products, such as country of origin, certification scheme, timber species etc. We want to thank you in advance for your support and patience. We look forward to growing our business with you as we embrace this change.
If you have any questions, please contact our Timber buyer & chain of custody manager via email on acook@bandps.co.uk
Yours sincerely,
M Cook

MR BRIAN GEORGE DIBBLE – FORMER DIRECTOR & CHAIRMAN OF BPS
Due to the current circumstances and restrictions, the number allowed to attend Mr Dibble’s funeral this Friday 26th February is very limited. The Directors will be attending as BPS’s representation.
However, it was Mr Dibble’s wish that his funeral procession pass by the front of BPS, Head office, Tachbrook Park Drive, Leamington Spa at a slowed pace on the way to Oakley Wood Crematorium.
With this in mind, if any staff, customers and acquaintances would like to pay your respects and stand outside at the roadside front of BPS whilst his funeral procession passes, his family have said that you would be very welcome to do so.
Date and estimated time of passing by BPS will be this Friday 26th February, at 13.45pm approximately.
MR BRIAN GEORGE DIBBLE – FORMER DIRECTOR & CHAIRMAN OF BPS LTD
It is with great sadness that the family of Mr Brian Dibble announce his passing on the 18th January 2021 at the age of 93.
Brian passed away peacefully with his family around him at his home in Leamington Spa, and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie, his son John, his daughters Jane and Emma, daughters-in-laws Alison and Melonie, and his grandsons, Sam and Edson.
A former head boy of Rossall School, Lancashire and originally from Edgbaston and latterly Ullenhall, Barford and Leamington Spa, Brian was a director and chairman of BPS Ltd, an independent family owned and run builders merchants with branches across Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds. He was a former JP in Birmingham, a keen traveller and had a life-long passion for music (particularly Frank Sinatra), cricket and tennis.
He will be fondly remembered as a true gentleman by all who knew him.
Due to current circumstances and restrictions the family will be holding an invitation only funeral service at Oakley Wood Crematorium, Leamington Spa on Friday 26th February. Family flowers only. Donations to MIND
